Cracking the Telemarketer Code

Post by suborna@321 »

While the lawsuit addressed robocalls, some telemarketers may still use deceptive language. Here's some code to be aware of:
Mystery Savings: Vague terms like "unbelievable savings" or "exclusive offers" sound great, but what exactly are they offering? Don't be afraid to ask for specifics like the base price before discounts and any hidden fees.
The "Pressure Play": Phrases like "limited-time offer" or "act now before it's gone" create a sense of urgency to pressure you into a quick decision. Take a breath! These offers are often available for a longer Phone Number List period or at similar prices on Carnival's website.
Bait and Switch: The initial offer might sound fantastic, but when you dig deeper, there are hidden costs or limitations. Be wary of deals that seem too good to be true.

Know Your Rights: The TCPA allows you to opt-out of receiving telemarketing calls. Add your number to the National Do Not Call Registry .
Embrace the Power of "No": If the call feels pushy or the offer doesn't align with your needs, politely decline and thank them for their time. You're in control of the conversation.
Consider Recording the Call (with Permission): In some states, you can legally record a call with the other party's consent. This recording can be helpful if there are discrepancies later.
